O is for Obsessed

a few key words in a search engine

and you find him

the guy that you met

who is not a guy you will see again

there’s an article about the brownstone he restored with his ex-wife

and you scroll down more and find

his public instagram and you click

and see that it’s pictures of him

and his kids

and oh he looks like a good father

and that’s nice

and that’s uh

oh no

you accidentally double tap on a picture

so you throw your phone across the room

and hide your head

in the hood of your sweatshirt

and what you should have done

is un-favorite it

but you don’t even know if that works

so you pour yourself more wine and you decide not to look at your phone

for the rest of the night

you watch another 3 episodes of unreal

and you finish your bottle of wine

and at 5 am when you wake up

because the pit of your stomach

feels like it’s filled with lava

you look at your phone

you see that he has requested to follow you on instagram

and you’re like

oh no no oh no

and you follow him back

I swear this didn’t happen to me. No, really. But it could have.
